Deputy Principal - 7MU's plus SMA

An opportunity exists to co-lead a distinguished College in Whangarei.

Due to the retirement of the current Deputy Principal, Pompallier Catholic College is now seeking a Deputy Principal for a 2019 start.

The candidate will ideally have strong pastoral and administrative skills. You will be committed to restorative practice, have a passion for ensuring success for all students and a strong desire to act in their best interest.

You will manage the day-to day activities of the College in conjunction with the Principal, and undertake a range of administrative tasks as required by the nature of this role.

It is a condition of appointment that the person appointed be capable of assisting in planning and organising courses and programmes at the school to ensure that they reflect the Special Character of the school, as provided in the school's Integration Agreement and Section 467 of the Education Act 1989 (Part 33).

Te Reo Maori Teacher plus other subjects - 1MU

We require a Te Reo Maori teacher, plus other subjects.

1.0FTTE position commencing Term 1, 2019.

This position requires the applicant to teach senior classes and also to offer teaching in other subject areas. Please state other subject skills and areas where you may contribute towards the wider curriculum of the College.

Successful applicants would be expected to actively contribute to the wider curricula areas for our students involved in Tikanga Maori.

Family Worker - 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Applications are invited for a Family Worker position, 15 hours per week, providing support to families and students through interaction with the school community, Catholic Parish, greater community and external agencies.

This is a new and exciting initiative that Pompallier Catholic College and St Francis Xavier Catholic School Boards of Trustees are very keen to implement.

The preferred applicant will have:

- A relevant tertiary qualification, or be working towards attaining a qualification in social work, health, education or a related discipline.

- Knowledge and skills in assessment and planning with whanau/families.

- Experience in delivering programmes to whanau/families.

- Experience in a health, education or social services setting.

- Knowledge and skills in utilising a strengths-based approach to whanau/family intervention.

- A working knowledge of issues relating to child protection, abuse and health/education issues.

- A willingness to support and promote the Catholic Character of our school.
